June 16th is Bloomsday How about a nice poem to celebrate? The unhappy ghost of James Joyce, exclaimed in dispirited voices, sigh James Joyce 1882 1941 Who needs bookish sissies promoting Ulysses? I'd rather be Oprah's first choice
I lay claim to absolutely no knowledge of James Joyce or his writings. I’ve never tried to read him, and have no intentions of doing so. Still, I have to wonder if he would really have wanted to be promoted by Oprah. Was he in fact driven by a desire for material wealth?

Joyce was born in Dublin, county Leinster, not Limerick, Co. L. but close enough. Bloomsday is 16 June.
