Or get shot down when the Army mistakes him for a nuclear arsenal (I know the song in both English and the original German).

Calvin should have done his research. He needed to kmow you need much more balloons to lift you up. If you want fun with just one balloon, swallow the helium and let the fun begin.

Hmm… I saw a little kid do a face plant today, but it didn’t bother him at all, even after he sat up and thought about it.

There actually was a guy who attached a bunch of helium filled balloons to his couch and flew it up to 15000 feet. He got arrested for violating controlled air space.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Walters

Never tried balloons but did depart the roof with cardboard wings, terminating in meeting the ground.

Anyone remember the storyline in Calvin and Hobbes when Calvin was able to fly on a balloon?

I remember it. The balloon eventually burst and Calvin fell to earth but was able to save himself with a ray gun.

This is why schools should teach physics at a much younger age.

There must be drought conditions there, considering the way the ground cracked when Calvin attacked it with his face!

When I was little, I always wanted to fly with a helium balloon. Now that I’m scared of heights, I don’t wish to anymore. But I would love to make my voice high pitched with the helium.xxx

Personally, I thought Calvin might untie the balloon, open his mouth, inhale, and let the helium do its work.

Come to think of it, I’ve never really thought about how Calvin’s (or Hobbes’) voice might sound …
