A week or two ago the BBC showed a version of “Midsummer Night’s Dream” where everybody had tablets and tactile screens. For some reason they had Athens as a fascist city and the Duke’s intended as a prisoner in a Hannibal Lecter mask, too. I’m all for modernising Shakespeare but that’s going a bit far.
