Linda let me bring home a mama and 5 babies. That means Tipper will go to Susan until Fri or Sat when his new owner comes down.
Another mama and her babies (mama is feral) are going to Dr Susan’s where she has a gigantic cage for them.
Two others, about 6 mos old, are still there waiting for their new owner to pick them up this weekend. She’s back in CA but regular Susan is going over every day to take care of them.
Still looking for two more foster homes for litters.
Right now we have ELEVEN litters out in foster care or waiting for us to find someone.
Unfortunately, my cousin’s cat, Ophelia (lovingly nicknamed Stinky) crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon. The urine and blood showed serious kidney issues that would have required invasive treatment that may not offer positive results. She was 18, and had been born in my cousin’s house so she’d had her from day one. My cousin has been living in my house for 12 years, so I’d known Stinky for most of her life. She was a wonderful girl, a black and white longhair. However, the past couple of days she wasn’t her usual outgoing self and was looking for places to hide, in addition to not eating, which wasn’t like her. I experienced this with one of my cats. I think she may have been telling us it was time. We’ll miss her.
We have 8 kittens we are fostering. All have gotten homes, just a matter of getting them up to the 2 lb requirement and then shots and away they go! Eight cats was a bit difficult as at least one, usually more, were sick with sniffles, diarrhea, but no ringworm this time. That is a major problem for my colony. So much cleaning medicating…humans too!
Thanks for the pick me ups today all! Time to go bath babies and trim nails. Get them ready..some little girls are so excited they can barely contain themselves. Their first kittens..we like to talk the new homes into two kittens..so much easier on everyone.
We had to put our 24 year old Ragdoll to sleep this morning. She was stopped eating yesterday. Her kidneys were failing and nothing else could be done. She lived with us for 20 of her 24 years.

I’ve just discovered that the feral cat problem in my neighborhood is worse than I thought. Does anybody have any experience with TNR programs?

WildeBill – Rikkie has been at this a LOT longer than I have so she’ll know more than I do. I’ve only been involved since 2011.
