Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for June 23, 2016
Transcript:
Alice: This is the highlight of my academic year the project that most fully expresses my concerns. Petey: Some cardboard with a puddle on it? Alice:The process is the most important part of this piece. First, I poured glue and paint all over the cardboard. Alice: Then, buckethead kevin accidentally sat down on it! I laughed so hard I almost threw up! Petey: Art can be merely the byproduct of a happy accident.

I used to say, “If I hear it’s the process, not the product that counts” one more time….I’m going to be processing a scream. But in Alice’s case, this process rocks.

Buckethead Kevin’s pants might also be a work of art.

I love the way Petey’s hands are so expressive in the last panel. Richard got that so right.

If you had thrown up on it, you might have been able to sell it to an art critic for thousands!

MOMA wants it! They’ll pay serious big bucks for such an original, inspired, processual creation!
