Ok. Here's your bunkhouse. You each have a bunk bed, and a little shelf for your toothbrush and soap. You did all bring bedding, toothbrushes, and soap, right? Yyyeah... Ha ha! Just kidding! Of course your parents sent that stuff with us. But... We're camping.

I remember the one time I sent my son on an overnight camping trip, and forgot to send a bedroll with him. Thankfully, he was a teenager by then, so I didn’t feel like it was ALL my fault. He survived and still loves me, but I sure felt like a bad mom when I found out.

Growing up in Upstate NY installed in me a lifelong hatred of ever camping, and, not coincidentally, put a very quick end to my Scouting career. Never did a camping trip where it was over 40 degrees at night and that was that. Didn’t even make Tenderfoot.
