Perhaps he meant, and so the comic strip begins. This is a reprint of the very first QUEEN. So maybe Pab is switching the strip to an all-reprint format, starting with the very first installment.
When Pab created NAQV, he was developing a different feature called IN THE LAND OF WONDERFUL CLIPART at his live journal blog. He ran this installment of NAQV, not under that title at the time, on February 8, 2006. He became intrigued by the humorous possibilities of a clipart strip starring Queenie, so on February 9, 2006, the official NAQV started up.
Pab never ran this strip as part of the official NAQV or included in in the archives here before, because Jim Davis is notoriously litigious. That’s why, the cat character who appeared later is named Barfield.
This strip did run in the first paperback connection of NAQV, however, which is where I first saw it.
So it was the first Queenie strip ever produced, but was part of the strip’s actual run until today. If tomorrow’s strip is the “We are teh not amused,” strip, then it would seem Pab is rerunning the strip from its very beginning.
Well, Happy Birthday anyway, Vickie, from your loyal Canadian subjects. We are always grateful for a Monday off in May. In fact, it’s kinda turning into National Gardening Day.
I have a fresh bouquet of lilacs in your honour on my work desk. I also planted some perennials to mark your influence on your Empire turned Commonwealth.
We’re glad you trusted us enough to let us take our baby steps as a country under your reign. We are also debating putting a woman on our money for the first time which is odd, because you were definitely the first anybody on our legal tender.
For those of us concerned, Pab tweet-stormed earlier today. Apparently his “day job” has gone poorly. Whether there’s more to recent events or not, a tweet-storm is better than that eerie silence we had.
