The song Back Street Girl by the Rolling Stones, although written in 1967 seemed to anticipate Tiger Woods by 4 decades:
Please don’t be ;part of my lifePlease keep yourself to yourselfPlease don’t you bother my wifeThat way you won’t get no help Don’t try to ride on my horseYou’re rather common and coarse anywayDon’t want you out in my worldJust you be my backstreet girl Please don’t you call me at homePlease don’t come knocking at nightPlease never ring on the phoneYour manners are never quite right Please take the favors I grantCurtsy and look nonchalant, just for me Don’t want you part of my worldJust you be my backstreet girl
I imagine that most professional golfers wake up in a cold sweat and screaming from a nightmare about choking the way Spieth did in real life. And I’ll bet that Spieth will have that recurring dream reliving his waking nightmare for mny years to come.
