If I were Jason, I think I’d hit Eileen over the head and take it from her…

I remember when I got my Charizard card in a random booster pack as a kid. That was a glorious day :)

In my day, it was Baseball cards. I remember when I opened a 5 cent pack one day, which had one piece of gum and six cards. The very top card was Yogi Berra. You should have heard me yowl!

I never got a Charizard…that one was really hard to get your hands on.

Good times. I remember I bought my friend 4 booster packs for his birthday. We were idling flipping through the cards, saying something along the lines of “crap….crap…crap…eh, decent, crap…crap…” and then….the magic moment. He flips to the next card, and there it is, staring at us in all its holographic glory. A Charizard. A brief pause for disbelief, then we spent the next 10 minutes running in circles around his basement shouting at the top of our lungs :P

My nephews never got into Pokemon, I remember Magic cards, and D&D.

I was never into trading cards even as a kid. But my sons were into (respectively) Magic, Pokemon, and Dragonball Z.

Somewhere in there, they all messed around with Pogs, but that’s not exactly cards, is it?

Pogs didn’t last long. I think most kids thought they were lame.

She’s just getting Jason back for tormenting her at least she is getting Jason were it hurt most. So funny. I never collect cards of any type. Books would have been nice for summer.

I’d like to have the money back I spent on my grandson and pokemon cards. Including a first edition charizard. I’ve still got all of them. Maybe they’ll make a comeback. Ha Ha

Pokemon cards only caught up amongst us uber geeks at school, but Yu-Gi-Oh cards were rampant . They were pretty much currency. I also remember the few who “weren’t really into the game” always got the good cards :(

I’ve never understood how you convince kids that something that’s literally worthless and has no entertainment value is somehow essential to their happiness so they’ll spend multiple fortunes on it. Normally Jason is smart, but here he comes across as REALLY stupid and gullible!

Destinty, back in the day, when this comic was originally printed, you could place the word “Pokemon” on anything and it’ll sell.
