The drivers will be a bunch overweight teenagers in the air conditioned basements of their parents’ houses. After the race, they will go back to taking out terrorists thousands of miles away by drone attacks.
First 500, 75 mph, this year they’re doing 230 mph, quite a change, which btw; it’s been many decades since Indy cars burned gasoline, they’ve long run on alcohol blends with no gasoline in “Gasoline Alley” for the race cars.
Thanks to cell phones and dash screens for wifi, we already have many driverless cars on the roads, and accident reports prove it.
Old Coal; not quite; formula E run have the race in one car, and swap whole cars, and battery packs, half-way through much shorter than 500 mile races. NASCAR vehicles being much heavier to begin with are a long way from capable.

I could see this happening if we continue on the path we’ve been going down. Need to make a U turn…

Fine, keep racing cars as gas powered antiques and make all other cars electric.

This cartoon makes no sense. If they didn’t allow turbine power at Indy, why would they allow electric?
