McCain shows clear signs of PTSD in spots – poor anger control, for example. Interestingly, his compatriots in the prison camp don’t think well of him at all…
mm- I have always recognized McCain’s PTSD, and often been willing to cut him some slack when it “surfaced”- been there, done that. BUT most of us still maintain “control” when we need to, and/or seek help. I see too many instances in the last few years when John didn’t.
Did you hear Palin’s attempt to explain why she quit her job? It was pitiful. She went on and on, and all that was clear was that (a) there must be a reason, and (b) she couldn’t tell the truth about it because it wasn’t politically wise. Problem was, she hadn’t come up with an alternate “legitimate” explanation, so she rambled on and on, saying nothing but weird disassociated blather that made no sense at all.
I’m not fond of lying demagogues of either gender, or of any party. But at least some have the decency to make themselves brazenly obvious.
Theory #1: Palin quit because the ethics boys were after her.
Theory #2: Palin quit because she’s a quitter
Theory #3: Palin quit because being governor is hard.
Theory #4: Palin quit because she could make more money in the private sector without those pesky ethics laws getting in her way, and she could make any stupid or dishonest statement she wanted without having to worry about running for office afterwards.
Theory #5: all of the above…

As far as Republicans go, I liked John McCain.
With the Rovian treatment he got in 2000, he diserved the presidency more than any other reublican.

He was a doormat in the 2000 election.

He looks a lot like “little Whitie”…

He was great until his bigoted base showed him who’s boss.

Always been erratic. Now senile AND erratic. Retiring him even for a teabagger would not be much of a change.

Why did McCain choose Palin? Does he not have a history of favouring the well turned figure?
