Punch line is bungled, since the two things he says ARE questions and DO warrant that rising inflection. A more on-point version would be: “So there’s a woman at work? And she turns every sentence into a question? And it’s contagious?”
I don’t know why, or how, females are taught to speak with frequency changes mid-word. I find it annoying and call it yodeling.
