That must be me on the other end of the line. Replacement Aids are way louder than the old ones, but I still have no clue as to the topic of conversation.

Hearing aids made my hearing worse. I quit using them. They make everything louder, but not necessarily clearer. Yeah, yeah, I know your brain has to learn to interpret. But I have talked to many people who use them, and they say the same thing; they could hear before using hearing aids, but after using them for a while, they can now only hear when using them. No longer drumming in blues and rock bands has also helped my hearing. I played in bands for over 50 years.

Not specifically mentioned in the advertising, nor enumerated in the technical specs, but the obvious (though well down-played) fact is what hearing is lost is truly lost, they can only enhance what is left to try to improve understanding. Still don’t make, at any price point, aids that allow the client to adjust automatic gain control limits and rates (volume compression) to allow reducing sudden noises or background levels while still amplifying low level sounds. Worked fine on old tv commercial limiters, but not yet in hearing aids.

If you’re buying earrings for your maids it’s no wonder you can’t afford one
