She’s the one who “decided” (8/30 strip) that it’s time her son built her a house. We have no way to know how logical or illogical that decision was. Life savings / inheritance could have a lot to do with it …
But moms who decide what it’s time their adult children did - whether it be marrying, moving back to their hometown, making partner, or whatever, are usually out of their league - or at least overstepping. I’d say her bubble probably deserved to be burst.
