@AKHendersonBeing a Vietnam vet that was not funny.Aussie ships desal plants concentrated it, not removed it.I was exposed to it for 7 yrs.Possibly food products and holiday destinations in Vietnam are still contaminated.
Wow, found the Strip, but had to navigate more ads an almost got lost among the garbage.Would never patronize those joints. They obstruct the enjoyment of Waley’s creations. Now lets see, yes, looks like Bob’s program works with limits.
@AKHenderson, @Its just me, @Apikoros and @npublici,♦One of my former co workers back at the telephone company(Illinois Bell) got pancreatic cancer from agent orange and died.
As to agent orange, I was on the register, proving I’d been exposed before it became presumptive for all ‘Nam vets. The compensation I do get for the neuro and other problems doesn’t compensate for the years of medical problems. Now, my son is a disabled Navy veteran with serious problems after exposure to the burn pits in Iraq. The Pentagon never stops looking for new ways to screw over our troops, in combat areas, and after they survive and have problems because of their policies and actions.
The VA tries hard to take care of vets, and the Pentagon and “factions of fraud” in Congress cut out documentation, and screw with budgets to make VA as inoperable as possible. From political appointees to micro-managing how VA can spend the money, and making retaining good employees almost impossible due to overwork and stress. Congress and “politics” are like alimony, vets are getting screwed again for the screwing they got; double tap.
A friend and former supervisor called me because he’d been diagonosed with prostate cancer. He’d spent a long time spraying sagebrush with civilian version of Orange. I confirmed the prostate cancer could well be the dioxin. A couple months later, he was found to have leukemia as well. THAT wasn’t from the Agent Orange, seems he’d spent weekends for seven years shooting at a range they’d set up at an abandoned uranium mine. The report on the area was high alpha, though low on gamma. It was eating their lunches and breathing in the alpha that was killing him. He died six months after we spoke. Saying DU is benign is likes aging that alpha radiation, alpha won’t penetrate the skin, so it’s “safe”. But if you breath it in, or ingest it, you’re dead.
Kill 3 birds with one stone. Burn less fossil fuel thus reducing Greenhouse emissions, keep more mature plants pulling the CO2 from the atmosphere, and turn less potential energy in to kinetic energy which will ultimately become heat energy. Yes it does sound like an energy plan. Except that grass becomes annual if it goes to seed, the potential energy he’s saving is negligible, and most of the Carbon in the Earth’s atmosphere comes not from human activity but from transmutation of Nitrogen.

What kind of people still bother with boring traditional grass lawns? Plant a flower meadow, and rent a few sheep during summer.
