The Born Loser by Art & Chip Sansom Brutus: Reading something good? Gladys: I'm reading an article about a new way of determining your body health... Gladys: It is based on the ratio between two of your body measurements... Gladys: Your height and waist... Gladys: For optimal health, you should maintain a two to one ratio. Brutus: Really? Well, what do ya know - I'm in good shape, then! Gladys: The two in the ratio is your height, not your waist, Pythagoras!

If I’d have heard this little “factoid” a year and half ago, I’d have thought I was in under the wire. Took a physical for a life insurance policy around that time and found that I had shrunk by 1¾" since I graduated from high school – probably the last time my height was accurately measured. The height listed on my TxDL has been wrong for God knows how long now. Geez, I wonder if you can be fined for lying about a fact on a government document by listing your height incorrectly on your driver license. I hope I don’t get pulled over and they ask me to get out of the truck and stand over there by that 5’-9" fence . . .
