Except that since DC resident don’t get to vote for them, they don’t have any motivation to do things that are in DC’s interests. That’s not real representation.

We gave half of DC back to Virginia. Just give the other half back to Maryland.
Puerto Rico has as many voters for independence as for statehood, thus the status quo.
