Wasn’t there already a memorial weeks ago?

No, Ali was not the greatest. Rocky Marciano was the greatest boxer.

This strip is always a couple of weeks behind the news. I wonder if there is a licensing agreement which delays the GoComics strip in favor of the newspapers which run the strip on a daily basis. This artist is also an editorial cartoonist and he is quick to make his point in editorial cartoons, so in the absence of some type of legal requirement that delays the daily strips, it does not make sense that his topical humor as reflected int this strip consistently runs about two weeks behind,

George Foreman did pretty well with both his boxing and business careers.

Lalo Alcarez, due to the lead time for syndicated publishing, is always late in these memorials. I understand his desire to pay tribute to his heroes. But this one is too, too late. Ali died on June 3!

Maybe it just took a while for the artist to do his tribute! You all must be very young. Not EVERYTHING is instant!

the sunday comics have a much longer lead time than dailies, and while he could just do a dailies tribute, many papers only carry certain strips on Sunday, and some only have sunday comics these days.
