Uh-oh. What? My phone pinged, but I left my thumb on the button too long. I didn't see if the ping was for a dropped call, text, email, Facebook message, work update, calendar, Instagram or twitter. Now I've got to hunt around to figure it out. I really, really miss the days when I wasn't home meant nobody could get mad that you didn't answer the phone.

I remember when I was much younger, watching Star Trek or something futuristic, thinking ’wouldn’t it be cool to have that kind of communications device.’ Well now we do, and it’s EXHAUSTING.

I’m often in environments where I can’t hear my phone, BECAUSE IT’S BACK HOME ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER WHERE I LEFT IT. (On purpose.)

The greatest advantage of cell phones is that people can reach you wherever you are. The greatest drawback is that people can reach you wherever you are.

‘PING’ – yes master – i am here to do your bidding. what button would you like me to push..-it is quite funny to watch a bunch of people within 20 feet of each other all react instantly to the sound of a ‘ping’ or ‘pong’ or two bar melody

I have very short sounds for email and messages, each quite distinctive. Ring tone is longer but also distinctive. At least I know where to look for something I missed.

It seems by the responses on this comic that you’re either a slave to technology or a slave to repeating the myth of the “good old days ad nauseum…”
