I still remember learning to ride sixty years ago. My mom’s bike. The handle bars were over my head like a chopped motorcycle. I could barely keep both feet on the pedals, my legs were that short. I still have the scar where my tooth went through my lower lip..I feel for you Calvin
This reminds me of my first year or so of mountain biking. My shins have no hair left and are covered with scars I call them my tuition receipts from mountain biking college. In my later years I had two or three spectacular crashes which I actually wish had been captured on video. Then I could impress my kids.“Look boys. It’s me, Super Dad. I can fly!”

I thought the whole point of electroshock therapy was to forget things.

A cousin thought it was okay to “go get her batteries recharged” every decade. Her brother didn’t enjoy it as much & kept escaping.

Calvin’s legs don’t reach the pedals. He needs a tricycle.

I recall that I deliberately launched myself off the bike many times at that age, because I could never remember how the brakes worked.

I didn’t think electroshock therapy was the current thing.

Electroshock therapy is something you seriously need, Calvin.

No helmet no shin pads; not even a helicopter parent. But he’ll take a helicopter tiger anyday. This must be in the 1986 or something.

I don’t get the joke either. What does Calvin mean when he says “It works on the same principle as electroshock therapy.”?
By the way, this may be of interest to you folks:
