Ah, this reminds me of my days in Solstheim… You could hardly pick up a giant evil book WITHOUT being grabbed by terror tendrils and sucked into another realm. Good times.
This reminds me of the movie Sphere where one of the divers has a recurring nightmare about the octipuss from 20,000 Leagues attacking him and he admits to one of his team mates that he never made it past that part of the book because the octipuss attack scared him so much. Then when everyone starts having hallucinations his involves finding hundreds of copies of 20,000 Leagues, and none of them has anything after the octipuss attack.
“Got a whale of a tale to tell ya lads, a whale of a tale or two-ooo.‘bout the flappin fish and the girls I’ve lovedon nights like this with the moon above!a whale of a tale and it’s all true — I swear by my tattoo.”
When I was a kid, a friend had the Classics Illustrated comic of 20,000 Leagues. He thought the title came from the octopus attack since the pictures showed “20,000 legs under the sea!”

That book again Lio? You must have read it, like, 20,000 times already.

For a moment I thought Ishy was misbehaving in the library. What a relief to see that it’s just the pop-up!
