Ryanair, a Dublin-based airline, is considering charging passengers £1 to use the toilet on its flights. The carrier charges £30 to check in a bag, £10 to pay for flights with a debit or credit card, £60 to check in sports or music equipment, £15 for each kilo of excess baggage, £50 to change a flight and £100 to change the name on a ticket. On the other hand, they do have low fares. Currently £1 = $1.552.

Charging people to use a service and not charging those who don’t. How unAmerican. They should charge the man with no luggage the same as the man with three bags. Orville would have wanted it that way.

On a flight from Aberdeen to Norwich a couple of months ago British Midlands didn’t charge me for my first bag … but the second bag, weighing only 20kg, cost me an extra £180!

Submachine: Canadian trains are slower than driving, more expensive than flying, and they’re trying to eliminate the tracks to minimize maintenance.

I’d have to drive 1.5 hours to the nearest passenger station. And the trip from Canada to England by train just ain’t gonna happen until they get the Atlantic Tunnel finished.

so by your logic Lewreader; if I’m on the very same flight, going to the very same place, I should be charged more because I happen to be going for two weeks and the dude sitting next to me is going on a business overnight?

Atlantic tunnel from NY to London will need a twist to change lane directions. Probably better to do that over the riff in the middle where the lava is flowing out from the separation of tectonic plates. The train from NY to London might be the better choice.
