Good morning, folks! To answer Dick’s question: maybe they belonged to different Universes or different times. Sherlock was an old geezer when Poirot began to investigate
I was also going to mention Seven Detectives All At Sea, another collaborative pastiche. It was a popular genre. Usually, all the flashy detectives give their amazing deductions, which are serially inaccurate, until somebody pulls it all together at the end (perhaps a new character).
MURDER BY DEATH didn’t even occur to me, because I was trying to remember humorous works.
so, here’s an interesting question… IF Tracy gets attacked by Abner, would TESS be the only one able to return fire since a private eye’s “jurisdiction” would reach further than Tracy’s?
For example, if Tracy gave Tess $1 to “hire” her, then technically she is “on a case” and able to return fire on Abner to “protect her client”. Tracy’s jurisdiction ends at the City Limits and in Europe he wouldn’t have any legal leg to stand on.. tho it COULD be argued that he fired in self defense. but foreign countries could be tricky with their interpretation
For anyone who doesn’t remember the details or doesn’t know them: “Murder on the Orient Express is a detective novel by Agatha Christie featuring the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. It was first published in the United Kingdom by the Collins Crime Club on 1 January 1934.”
Gweedo asked,Might Abner be the murdered on the Orient Express ?!-—————————————————————————-.Good afternoon Gweedo..I am concerned about Abner. He knows that the weed of crime bears bitter fruit, but he persists with his careless demeanor.
Tess and Dick must be drinking some some European style of coffee (broadly defined), since those cups are so small: maybe kafe Turkiko on the Orient Express (which I am led to believe is but a shadow of its former opulent self these days). Enjoy the leisurely pacing, guys. Tracy is on vacation!
I just realized – Tracy was just at a detectives convention earlier this year – didn’t you see any of those detectives there, Dick? And of course, he’s not referring to Wunbrow or Ivanov as “great”. (Or Dethany, but she’s just a part-time detective.) And what about the circumstances of his first meeting with the Phantom? Of course, Tracy modestly may not be considering himself a great detective!

.Although I hope Abner is unsuccessful in his quest to kill Dick Tracy, I hope no permanent harm comes to Abner and the e-vil for which he stands!

Maybe the Orient Express regularly has a Murder Mystery event that Dick and Tess could participate in LOL

Really? I wonder if that had something to do with Ironsides being a wheelchair detective.
