Huh?!! Fowl play! Live pigeon shooting was an event at the 1900 Olympics. Honeybees traveling in large forms are mostly harmless- they are looking for a new home and have no hive to protect! Winston Churchill's mother, Lady Randolph Churchill, had a snake tattooed on her wrist!

When did pidgin-shooting cease to be an Olympic sport? My guess it got discontinued in fear of pidgins becoming endangered. (How many medals were even awarded?)

Bees will still sting if they feel threatened or startled.

Unless you disturbed the bee’s hive (I have, it’s not fun.)

I guess the Churchill story is a little interesting when you consider how rare tattoos were among upper-class Brits at the time. It’d be more interesting if it were the “Don’t tread on me!” or “Join, or die” snake.

I’ve heard that before about swarming bees. They are much less likely to sting. But, I would think they would still be motivated to protect their queen.
