Same rules apply there as anyplace else. You tip for exceptional service . . . if you don’t want to look like a jerk. But tips are always voluntary . . . if you don’t want to look like a jerk.
I got a guy at work like this. Thing is if he had not said anything and not tipped. He wouldn’t have looked like a jerk. Maybe he should go to 7-11 instead. The one thing I don’t like about tipping at starbuck is that I do not carry cash often and they do not have it where I can tip when I pay with the card.

Tipping is difficult to figure out sometimes. How much? Do you really need to? Why is everyone behind me looking at me when I do/don’t? Sheesh!
