They should not make films from old TV shows and they should not redo the old classic TV shows with new actors. It is an insult to the actors, etc . in the classics.
There was this terrible ET ripoff back in the day called “Mac and Me,” which was pretty much just an excuse to sell McDonalds food, Coca-Cola, and Skittles. It flopped, and McDonald’s uses things like free Wi-Fi and Monopoly to get you to eat at their restaurants now, which goes over better.

They tried making a TV show from the Geico commercials about a caveman, but it was a flop. What a terrible idea.

There have been other commercials that they used to tell stories–not so easy in the long run.

Didn’t they make a TV movie from an on-going commercial series about a couple falling in love? For coffee, as I recall.
