Oh, I am going to miss this strip so much. So happy they will be together, but there will be an empty spot in my mornings. Thank you for all the humor and touching moments, and the beautiful artwork.

Oh, I am so, so happy! This is the sweetest installment yet! Tortie running “home” to LD and his tail, like LD’s, propelling him all the way. I also love how the light gets brighter and brighter the closer to home he gets! Sheer joy! Thanks, Steve!

After all these years we all knew Steve wouldn’t let LDL and his friends down. I only started a couple of years ago and look forward to seeing this from the beginning.

Just a small reminder for all of those people who like me haven’t had the delight of seeing this strip from the very beginning. Go to the top of this webpage and on the right side of the year 2016 you will see the small double back arrow icon and if you click that will be able to read ALL of the adventures of our beloved Little Dog Lost and see just how much the characters have changed since then.

Yay. Certainly appealed to the marshmallow in me! Steve said he was wrapping up THIS strip. What if he starts another strip, maybe called Little Dog Returned?? !!!! But this is proving to be a great, happy ending if, in reality, this is the end of THIS story.

Iʻm attracted to this strip mainly because I own a LDL, rescued from the rescue center here. She spent 4 long years at the SPCA, (got out twice, but was returned for digging under fences when left on her own). Sheʻs been mine now for going on 5 years. Mellowing in her mature years. Great companion. Happy she no longer lives on a concrete floor and can spend as much time as she wants outdoors, on HER couch and on our bed. Took her a long time building her routines with me. She didnʻt have any routines when she came home with me. She replaced my Buddee Dawg that I had for 14 years and who crossed the Pacific ocean 3 times with me.

Oh, I hate being late to the comment board! But I’ll add my two cents too! I love this, Vern and LDL get to be forever friends! Man, I’m I going to miss this comic strip; especially the yearly, Halloween Sunday, panel.

I’m gonna miss LDL. I saw it from the beginning. It is one of the few strips that got better as it went along. Give us another!

I hope GoComics will continue to run this strip in reruns like they do Calvin & Hobbes, Fred Bassett, and some others.

I’ve already commented today, but after reading all the wonderful comments made since, I have to say; I’ve been reading this strip for over 4 years, and I do not recall EVER reading one that was even slightly negative. There are so many people out there that go out of their way to say something unkind about a strip. There is just no way even the worst troll could find anything bad to say!! What an accomplishment, Steve. I’ll be here till the last strip, and then start over from the beginning!Thank you
