Our water source here in middle Georgia has some of the best water there is, and that’s documented. But I still don’t use it until it has passed through my Pur water filter. I bottle my own water. When I need a fresh bottle, I pick up some Glacéau Smartwater, and reuse the bottle for a while. I usually have about three bottles in the rotation.
Over the years our cat has drank water from the aquarium, the toilet bowl,( hilarious to watch) the ditch, any puddle outside, watering jugs,in fact any source of water other than the dish we put out for him and change daily.
I always keep the lid down. Keeps my kittens from falling in and drowning or the big ones from making a panicy splash. They like to sit on the lid to watch me take a bath so if it’s not closed…… Looks nicer too if the lid is down…no gaping maw!
Jingle Belle Katt hasn’t drunk from the toilet as far as I know. She did, once, reach up to the shelf above the toilet and drag down the towels stacked up there—at least one of which landed IN the toilet. Better to keep it lidded…
The aquifer for Vancouver is fenced off and no one can enter, but all creeks flowing out of it are safe to drink from. Great when hiking along the edge.

With the kinds of chemicals you can put into it to keep the water clean it would kill that dog. Lock your toilet bowls!

The eau de toilette has an impressive cachet – a certain “je ne sais quoi!”

I put out fresh water outside and the cat drinks the dirtiest water he can find instead.

I would be insulted if my dogs did that.

I don’t even use tap water here on the Gulf Coast to make coffee with or cook with. . . too many chemicals, it stinks. . .

Reminds me some of my cat. Give her fresh water and she will go drink out of the dog’s water dish!

Ya, I keep the TB lid down, and his water bowl clean and fresh. Yet, when he goes outside he drinks from puddles of slush….

the original strip of this was cut out of the newspaper and on my Mother in Law’s fridge for years!

Is this strip set in Canada? I thought it was Mexico where tourists shouldn’t drink the water.
