Marigold: Rrrrrrrrrrrrinnnnnnng!! You did better that time!
Phoebe: By the start of school, I'm hoping to get the trauma level of hearing bells down to about 20%.
I live a block from my local High School. They use an electronic chime that somehow reverberates through walls. I am still working now so I rarely hear it but I wonder how I will feel about it when I retire.

One thing that made me jump a time or two was the fire drill alarm. That deafening buzz was probably more scary than a real fire.

I’m 56 years young, yet I still feel those schoolboy chills the moment I see a “Back-To-School” ad in some store’s flyer.

What a world of solemn thought their monody compels!

I’m in college, so I don’t need to hear those bells again. But it’s still just as traumatic, perhaps even more so than school itself.
