My first car was a ’57 Beetle. I took care to tailgaters by adjusting one windshield washer to miss the windshield completely, squirt over the car, and hit the tailgater behind me. They quickly got the point that they were endangering my engine..I often thought that pickups with the spike for carrying round hay bales could get the same effect with an in-cab control that could lower the spiked like a stinger.
