bbear: about the kitty in the fridge – I have a story.
Last year Susan called me all panicky. She could not find one of her foster babies. Her house is minimilistic – very few places to hid. She searched and searched.
She finally thought she would have something to eat before starting to retrace all of her steps.
You can guess where the baby was. Yep, in the fridge!
My brother lives on a few acres in Jackson County WV with 3 indoor cats and 3 dogs. There is a feral cat named Mama Cat who is anywhere from 16 to 20 in age that comes up on their deck to beg for food when they are eating at their outside table. She even lets you pet her. She comes up to their French doors and stares inside for hours watching them for her entertainment but she won’t go inside. You can tell she is running down these days. She lies on the deck alongside the dogs. They have been thoroughly dominated by the inside cats and know better than to mess with her.
I was going through some old archives and I just happened to come across this. Given the conversations last week, I thought I would post this for you all. This is from the March 9, 2016 strip.
Wet & Soggy GoComics Pro Member commented on Ten Cats 4 months agoThis is Linda Deans son Lennie. I am amazed that my aunt Ruth still had not only the site up on my mothers old laptop, but that it was set for Ten Cats. I was going through their books and found a Red and Rover comic that mom won from GoComics and it reminded me that I neglected to come here and let you know that Ruth passed away. She had a heart attack and while she was in getting it checked out, she had a stroke and died almost immediately. I sincerely apologise for not letting you know sooner but with both my mothers death followed so quickly by the wonderful lady I got to call aunt and then a new baby in the household, time and memory got away from me. Both my mother and my aunt Ruth loved comics, so they naturally gravitated to GoComics and Ten Cats was their favorite and not just because of the comic, but because of the community here. I just spent about an hour going through previous strips and see now exactly what they meant by that. You are all nice people and I am glad that my two favorite women other than my wife, had that sense of other family. God be with you all. Lennie

Wet & Soggy GoComics Pro Member commented on Ten Cats 4 months agoOh, and just to let you know, King George and both cats live with us now. The cats guard our new son like sentries. King George, not so much.
I remember this strip from before. I loved it then and I love it now. By the way, I wish I could have all the cats and kittens. It wouldn’t take much for me to become the crazy cat lady. Add a few dogs, horses, cows etc. and I would be happy. To all the people who take in strays or foster, great work. You are real angels and the world needs more like you. Infrognito is just too cute, as are all the others.
I got Suny from someone who enjoyed abusing animals. It broke my heart (and still does) when people do that to animals. When I got Suny he picked ME for his friend for life instead of ME picking him. His idea of getting attention from me is to wrestle, and naturally of course, he ALWAYS wins. Every evening about 8:00 PM I put a harness and a leash on him and walk him around the block. He just loves that. In fact, when I get the harness and leash out he gets all excited. It’s as if he can’t wait to go outside for his walk. After I post this I will post a picture of him. By the way, I do LOVE him till the end of the world.
Just got back from the vet with Calvin. His mouth is still red from the teeth removal so no more dry food for him. That’s really ok, tho. He hardly at any because I’m giving him plenty of nice, soft wet food. The doc took a scraping of one of the bumps and didn’t really see anything that stood out.He suspects the bumps and gum issue are due to an overly active immune system (eosinophilic stomatitis / pyoderma). Allergies are also a possibility. He gave Calvin two shots;a long acting (14 days) allergy / steroid shot and an antibiotic (clavamox) He said that was better than just plainamoxicillan.
He wants to see him in 2 weeks for a recheck. The teeth will likely be a lifelong issue until all teeth and roots are extracted.
He weighed 10 lbs 5 oz which is a good weight.
That means an adoption is going to be REALLY hard.
The bill was $108 so we need to sell a bunch of kitty mats!
Just because he is a cat does not mean that he does not like to be walked on a leash. He does actually enjoy it. Because he is an indoor cat it is an adventure for him to go outside. I live in an apartment complex very close to a main road. I put a leash on him so that he does not get harmed or ran over by a car. Basically, it’s for his own safety. And, it would break my heart if he was killed.
Thanks Tea Time for Me, I will copy your instructions and give it a try. As I said, others have given me directions, but anymore, for the most part, I get on here late and am too tired to go into all that work. LOL! But I would like to post my boys and girls and my sons rescues as well.
Some cats actually enjoy being leash walked. My Hannah Bee didn’t mind being on a leash, though I never walked her on one, I would put her outside with me on a leash while I worked in my gardens. She would enjoy it, and the lead was long enough that she could explore the bushes, flowers, etc. Don’t do that with my current fur babies, but my son does take Molly out in the back yard now and then and she enjoys it and behaves nicely on a leash.

Tea Time – for some reason I can’t do a REPLY to Sunys’ pictures. He’s very handsome and I love his harness with the pirate.

@Tea Time For Me. Suny is a hunk…the skull on his harness ‘makes’ the outfit. He is a lucky guy to have adopted you!
