That’s better than “flu-like symptoms” which these days can mean anything, including six weeks to live. I think I ended the “just a virus” diagnosis by demanding to know what kind of virus: pneumonia, rabies, Hanson’s disease… By the time I got that far, they would either laugh, give me some polysyllabic name which probably didn’t exist, default to “it’s something going around”, change the subject, or rarely give me what I was really after – the prognosis.
