    “It was the thought that counts.”

    It doesn’t matter how good or bad the poem is, or even if it rhymes, Mom will love it anyway.

    Sophie’s vocabulary is bigger than Doug’s, but maybe “BAK” is just how she hears everything Doug says, like an adult human would hear her poem as “woof woof woof woof…”
