Marty Moon? Why would the sports department be covering this story, even assuming there is one beyond Marty? A plea in a DUI case involving a death would belong to the news folks, even if an athlete was involved.
Well coach, if Young Master Bader’s father had run into him instead of Boo, we wouldn’t be having this conversation and I’d be at Wake Forest instead of stuck in this never ending story.
Way to go Tru(e). We knew you had it in you.
Marty Moon has it on good authority from Joe the bartender that Mr. (giggle) Bader is pleading guilty.
Pretty sure Moon got the scoop because he was in court for his own DUI at the time. Seems he was driving a truck and ran into some poor girl from Milford, but everyone else was really ticked off at the first drunk guy who hit her.
Mr. Bader may have caused the accident and put Boo in the line of death, but he did not kill her. the pickup driver did. We may find out around Christmas what’s going on.
So the unknown kid’s mom sends him a text, "hi honey, I hope school was great!!! btw, i ran into marty moon at the speedco and he says your friend barry’s dad is pleading guilty. LOL! (joy emoji, heart emoji, clapping hands emoji)
P-1: Gil explains his predatory approach to vulnerable teens.P-2: Yes, yes, a kids a kid. Drool,drool.P-3: Why is MB referring to his father as Mr. Bader, now; or are there two kids that look like that on the team?Everybody sing: The Prisoners are in the Del, the Prisoners are in the Del. Hi, Ho, they Marry oh, the Prisoners are in the Del.
Yesterday, Tru(e) had trouble getting a grip. Today, Barry’s a jerk. What’s up for tomorrow, a stroke of genius, rubbing the wrong way, jack him up, whack him…?
Story Arc, Day 132: Madness is setting in. I am even finding that “Nancy” has a more interesting story arc and Sluggo is a far more sympathetic character than Master Bader, True and Gil, combined.
This story line brings back to mind something that happened to me several years ago:
I had a friend who had lost his wife and 2 sons in a car accident. They were rear-ended by a drunk driver who was 5 TIMES over the legal limit. The accident was covered on TV (they interrupted Oprah for this), and was the lead item in the local news for the rest of the day. It wasn’t until the next morning that I realized who’s family it was. I went to the funeral at the funeral home (it was a Jewish service), During the funeral we were asked to talk among ourselves about the deceased for a few minuets. I turned to a lady next to me and she told me that she was here because of her children. She had a son who went to middle-school with one of the boys who had died in the accident, and she also had a daughter who was in High School and was best friends with the daughter of the person who hit them. All of a sudden my thoughts turned to this person’s family, and what they must be going through. I wonder if the students treated the daughter the same way that Barry is being treated.
I should point out the man was tried and convicted of vehicular manslaughter. My friend spoke at the sentencing hearing and I hear on the news what he said: “I don’t hate the man, but I hate what he has done.” WOW!

I know this is a crazy thought, but how about the mother get the kid counseling from someone more qualified than a high school (state champion) coach?

And the idea of Marty breaking a news story is too far-fetched. I’m sure he has lots of sources in the courthouse at Central City.

Is Moon a news reporter at the radio station? In small towns they have a guy reporting the news, and also broadcasting the high school sports events.

…in the past year, we have never been closer to a gratuitous shower scene than now…look at the sheen on that tile floor!
R & W, for the love of Jon Jawor, please get the loofah out, we need the break from this brooding, dismal story.
