I love clever word-play & puns. I can tolerate any of those things Gaylord objects to as long as there is a truly clever twist to it.

Even nursery rhymes are under attack now.
Actually, a pretty fair number of nursery rhymes have passably well-hidden political, religious, or social allusions.
