I love the fact that Wrigley Field is still there, as is the Post Office building. As to Indians…my family is all from NYC and environs. My father and mother were the only ones in their families of their generation who left New York, finally settling in Chicago. My mother’s older brother, who had an acute sense of fun, used to write me notes asking how the wild Indians in Chicago were doing. (You have to understand, as was explained to me, that there are New Yorkers for whom everything west of the Hudson is still unsettled territory.)
The buildings bookending the first panel are both lost to history. Central Station on the left, and the Masonic Temple on the right. What I wouldn’t give to have them here today.

I used to try to dream about the Museum of Science & Industry or Buckingham Fountain.
