Calvin will grow up to be financial wunderkind until he’s indicted.

Hobbes is a true American. Why play if there’s no money involved? Or, as I like to say, “Hold the applause, just throw paper money.”

It’s official. Hobbes is the brother Calvin never had. I don’t have siblings, but my cousins and I usually solved everything by playing a game without rules, and whoever won got to established whatever rule they wanted.

What a co-inky-dink! My 2 brothers and I are in the same order and roughly the same amount apart in age. We also played that game (a lot) but we usually played nice.

I hope this new order of our comments is not too confusing. It does make you seem prescient. That’s from Laugh-In, for coincidence,

With us it was “iguana breath” and “linguini brain.”

The scary part is, when you’re an adult and get a new “agreement” that you can’t refuse, it’s just about the same . .

Way to go, Calvin. Make up rules as they suit your needs. A true Pharisee.

It’s impossible to single out one C&H strip as the greatest, but this one has always been one of my favorites – “interest free loans” ……….. LOL

Looks like Hobbes has the rules figured out and that’s not good news for Calvin. Hobbes can hold is own. Too bad its bath time for the both of them.

Reminds me of my 6 year old son. He would go to the baby sitter’s house and inveigle her and her siblings (all over 15 years old) to a game of monopoly. They quickly learned to avoid this after he cleaned their collective clocks several times in a row.

I was never able to beat the little wart myself.

Games are more fun when you make up the rules yourself!
