I can remember Helping my grandfather build purple martin house’s, he must have had a dozen if not more around the farm.

Wow! I’d better start putting out a pond of stagnant water so I can attract more mosquitoes.

I need something that eats wasps. And something else that eats hackberry trees.

Our mosquitos eat the dragonflies.

I loved sitting in the hot tub watching the bats catch bugs, but we just sold that place.

Mosquitos carry, among other diseases, Maxamatosis. It’s a deadly disease spread to rabbits.

Running water helps, too. We have dropped floating solar fountains in our birdbaths. Keeps the water moving, and offers a perch for the birds.

Jo Clear (aka: Grasshopper)Purple martins really don’t eat that many mosquitoes, but they eat the dragonflies which do eat mosquitoes. Dragonflies and bats are the best mosquito control, other than preventing any standing water which is essential for the larva and pupa stages.

I keep wondering who Reed Hoover from Dallas, Texas is – and WHY so many of the recent Plugger cartoons have been credited to him. Can’t help but wonder if the original team is thinking about transitioning to a successor – and they have picked Reed Hoover to take over the strip. There seems to be very little information on the Intrnet about Reed Hoovr from Dallas.
