My GF acquired a tuxedo cat already named Oreo, but as a child of the ‘60s she didn’t like the racial overtone, so Oreo became Cookie. If you don’t understand why, you can take it as evidence that some things really have improved.

The very first appearance of Oreo. I wouldn’t say Oreo & Max become friends, but the hostility is much less.
