I noticed that the first place had a “Lady’s Night”, and not a Ladies Night. Apparently that night the place is permanently reserved for Lady, and whoever she brings with.

In truth, I think an evening at Tommy O’Spleen’s would be splendid. Sports is always good for a passionate debate that won’t necessarily degenerate into fisticuffs.

I’d try the 4 shamrock one but I wouldn’t know how to pronounce the name for the cab driver.

Guinness isn’t SUPPOSED to be warm, except in comparison to the way Americans drink most beers. It’s meant to be served “cellar temperature” (50-55 F), which is slightly cooler than “room temperature.”

I wanna try Old Balrog’s Depleted Uranium Stout, if I can stop laughing long enough to order it!

If the Maudlin Banshee added Coors Light to their handles, they’d drop into “Negative Shamrocks.”

Re the Maudlin Banshee: There’s an epidode of “Ballykissangel” that deals with an Irish pub in Ireland that decides to drop Guinness from its handles because all the patrons (Irish IN IRELAND) just order Budweiser and Coors Light. It stuns me how many Irish from Ireland (but not IN Ireland) order Bud or Coors Light in Irish pubs (not IN Ireland), because the stuff is vile and presumably they know better…

I will not and cannot drink Budweiser, which IMO is swill. On the other hand, Guiness on tap, thick, foamy, and warm, is fine. Close and Open accordingly….

Beer arguments on the 5th floor. Forget the stout – I’ll take an IPA.
