This whole arc is adorable. So realistic. I remember watching my sister’s school play wind to just such a close.
This is typical of Thompson’s genius, but his art is so striking that I never found convincing the panels where he’s trying to draw like Petey.
Might have been a more effective song with a Banjo Man!
My own take on the play matches my Spirit Animal Petey’s! I like his bemused reaction to the parental enthusiasm for this blissful production!
