Well, so much for those paper towels! Sophie, your are is as good, if not better, than a lot of things that are passed off as art today. HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY, EVERYONE!

…I absolutely love sophie in panel 8 – my late Cleo would get that identical expression when you petted and praised her :)…and she was an artist, too! – I just never realized it…she worked entirely in Kleenex…

I would never leave the toilet lid up. No doubt my little female cat would enjoy putting her toys in it.

That’s why I leave mine down. Spencer likes to “waterboard” his toy mice in his water fountain; I can only imagine what he’d do in the toilet!

Adore the little raspberry beret on Sophie. Can’t help thinking of the parallels to life I general and Georgia in particular. Multiple cross country moves in the space of a few years, during which she acquired 1 husband, 2 kids and, most pertinent to my life, two additional cats AND a syndicated comic strip ! If that is not change that could have made her fall to pieces or grow (like a roll of paper towels in the toilet…) I don’t know what it is.

One more little thing I love about this strip-the profundity right next to the non conventional, unexpected punch lines, like Tommy asking Sophie where her art comes from, and she deadpans “the kitchen, mostly”.

Yes, what I love about this is the use of metaphor!

Always enjoy Sophie. Years ago I had Grey Baby Soph. She was a wonderful companion. Much loved and sorely missed.

What is the attraction to toilet paper and paper towel? Gotta admit the art does speak for itself -LOL ….my beloved Gregory once stuffed all his soft toys in the sink and turned the water on….in the middle of the night…I got up in the dark and walked in to cold water…he was floating his plastic toys on it!!

This one is close to the top of my list of favorites. “And once changed, we never quite return to our original state.” The whispered, “We’re all paper towels.” And, of course, the little raspberry beret!

All budding artists should have someone as understanding as Sophie’s Woman in their lives! (So many do not.)
