No Problem, I hold my Wife’s purse quite regularly if in a store. I like to just look at the guy , Daintly hold up my hand and give him a little wave, then say something like " Why Thank-You! I just got it on Sale, but I can’t seem to find any shoes to match it, and I love your outfit. " in a mellow " sweet " sounding voice. They don’t know how to respond when a 240lb. 6ft. 1in. man does that. My Wife and our Friends can’t help but laugh about it. Makes our day.
I never understood that. I always take my purse in with me. Every changing room I’ve ever been in has a hook to hang your purse. I wonder what woman like that do with their purse when they go shopping without their husbands! gasp
43 years in a marriage to the most beautiful woman in the world [eat your heart out Miss America] and all 43 I have held her handbag when trips to the lavatory, dressing room and occasionally overcrowded supermarket shopping carts occur. Even did it a few times when I was still in uniform [ retired LEO] and always joked “I’m her private armed security,” when looked at curiously.
Why do men make such a big deal about holding their wife’s purses?OK, I understand that Earl was embarrassed by holding a bright pink purse but come on!xxx
Huh. Don’t most husbands ask their wives to “put this (whatever this is) in your purse.” Seems to me sometimes the purse does double duty as a pocket (which is, of course, how they began. . .but that’s another comic strip. . .)
There are two noble acts a husband can do for his wife.Hold her purse and purchase monthly sanitary products.I have always done both without embarrassment.Holding a purse is easy, but I’ve always made sure to ask so that I get the correct sanitary product. So for those men who are embarrassed I say MAN UP!!!This is your wife. There is nothing embarrassing in helping her!!!!!

“You should see the wife that goes with the purse!”

Earl should have asked Mr Smarta$$ “Are you married?”. I’ve been holding purses for 46 years.

The coat with no sleeves is called a vest.
