Politicians never learn: It’s not the deed that sinks you. It’s the coverup. I began to realize this at the ripe old age of 15 when, in 1972, Pres. Nixon at first said he was not going to have his Justice Department investigate the Watergate break-in of the DNC HQ because “it might be political.”
Duck tape is a brand name of tapes. If you have ever used the original on any kind of heated surface, you know it won’t last very long. It is not waterproof and won’t last very long outdoors. There was a duck tape, made of cotton duck, but no evidence that it was coated with adhesive. Etymologist Jan Freeman says the there is no mention of duck or duct tape during WWII. The earliest usage of the term duct tape she can find is around 1963. She says it didn’t become popular until about 1980, until the Duck brand came on the market.I worked in aircraft from 1960 until 2000. I never saw this tape used until about 1968, as a temporary seal for various types of containers. When I was a kid we bought a lot of stuff from Army surplus stores (after WWII and Korean wars). I used a lot of ammo boxes and traded them to my friends. I never ever saw any duck tape on any of them. They were and are now, sealed with a rubber gasket. So, pick which ever story you like and stick with it.
A politician who wants to remain a politician, or whose handlers want him to remain a politician, must never come clean. It’s unnatural (for a politician). So, as Steve said to Milo and Binkley, “stick em up!”

The political advisor’s secret weapon: Duct Tape. If the women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

You can’t fix stupid…but duct tape deadens the sound.

If Duct (or duck IYP) Tape leaves a residue, you can get it off with WD-40.

You can use duct tape on a penguin. Getting it off, on the other hand, may be an issue. At least for the penguin.

The truth is that Duck Tape was invented to repair ducks. You know, when they quack.
