Back in the early 1950’s there was actually a Disney animated featurette entitled Reason or Emotion that was nominated for an Oscar (a Tom and Jerry cartoon won it). This is the sort of thing that would have ruined Gary Hart’s campaign today instead of the Monkey Business.
Looking at our current state of affairs, I’d say that we need a lot less brain and a lot more spirituality. More ‘us’ less ‘me’, more ‘service’ less ‘hubris’, more ‘common good’ less ‘good for me.’
