the big box stores have giant inflatable Halloween in Isle One. Giant prelit Christmas trees in Isle Two. Poor Thanksgiving is treated like an unwanted step-child.
That song"It’s the most wonderful time of the year" is a big lie. so much stuff to do, almost obligatory extra work. Leading up to 1 day that is so commercialized it isn’t even close to what the real reason and the time of year of what it’’s supposed to be.It is closer to Saturnalia. ( may be spelled wrong) but it is from old gods and old nothing sacred about it.To many it is the most dreaded time of the year. When my kids were little I made big holiday of it and tried to make great memories for them. humbug. I do like the old movies and The Peanuts Christmas tho.
Our supermarket had some of the Christmas ice cream in the freezer. There is also a Christmas tea out. When I saw the frozen food guy with all the ice cream and saw the White Christmas ice cream I was telling him to please put it back in storage. He said he wasn’t putting it out. I don’t mind if he puts out Peppermint Stick though. That’s one I wish I could get year-round.
I also did just order my mom’s Christmas present. I wanted to do it before I forgot what I wanted to get her. Besides, it’s out of stock right now and I don’t know how long I have to wait. And September was the month where I got a third paycheck. Fewer expenses.
