He was hardly moose-like in his lone appearance as a second baseman. If he’s such a big lummox, he would never be a middle infielder.

Agreed Chip. In baseball and softball, the two middle infielders take the most steps defensively during a game. Moose is a sturdier nickname than Pels or Wick. It will boil down to who can get Max Ortiz the damn ball.

You really do need to practice your footwork Moose. From the look of those footprints, you’re feet are attached to the wrong legs.

I take it that’s Hakeem talking about himself in the third person. Already he’s annoying. I hope we don’t soon start wishing for more from Master Bader.

Wouldn’t they have more or less started working out what positions guys played on the freshmen and JV teams? Or does Gil not coach those, too?

I for one hope these young men visit the barber before school starts. These long haired teens look like something out of the 60s or 70s. Oh, wait a minute, that’s probably on purpose.

P3: That football only has one stripe. That rules out being an NFL, CFL or NCAA ball.

P2 dude obviously doesn’t know football if he thinks linebackers are in the muck.

@James St. John Smythe: Cool, now we have a theme song from the Thorp era:It had one stripe and two nice laces, a Polish kid, and man o man; one stripe and two nice laces, half time has a Marching Band.

@ The Brown Starfish: Be grateful his feet are only switched. The season could be a disaster if he had two left feet.

He certainly does need to practice his footwork, since those footprints in P1 show that he is trying to pass while his legs are crossed.
