Slackmeyer: Hello? Are you a taxi dancer here? Alice: They call us dance hostesses now, ducks. Slackmeyer: Forgive me. I havent' been here in years. Alice: the place has changed, ducks. Strictly class now. A dance costs a buck! Slackmeyer: That seems reasonable. Especially for a waltz. You can waltz, can't you? Alice: Like the debutante I once was. Lead on, sailor! Slackmeyer: That's a lovely scent you're wearing. Alice: Thanks. I collect those magazine scratch 'n' sniffs.

I don’t think that you will find those perfume samples in the magazines anymore. They were banned because so many people are allergic to them.

Was Alice originally British? “Ducks” is a British expression.

Why do I have this ominous feeling about these two? Could it be that Alice was his “one that got away”? Got the feeling that something important from their past is going to surface as they continue to converse. Why was he so in a hurry to get to the dance hall? hmmm!

I use them around the house as free air fresheners. Waste not, want not.

I stick them in front of the fan in my office.

we used to get free perfume samples in little vials in college welcome boxes, or the department stores. I knew a girl who collected those and never bought any at all….
