Judging from the look on his face, I’d say that that’s the general idea, Elly!

If he turns it up loud enough he probably couldn’t hear much and damage his hearing too.

No respect for his privacy? Much better if she just tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention as opposed to ripping off his headphones. He certainly didn’t appear to be doing anything wrong.

Tweenagers and sceenagers develope and perfect that Seletive Hearing Ability – much to the dismay and irritation of their parents ( which of course is a bonus ).

This skill will be honed to virtuosity, by the time they’re married.

Michael ate meals that were bought and prepared by…John and Elly. Michael’s clothes were purchased by…John and Elly. Michael’s haircut was paid for by…John and Elly. Michael’s toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, et cetera) were bought by…John and Elly. Michael’s room is adjunct to a house, whose title is in the name of…John and Elly. Electricity to power the room was purchased by…John and Elly. Given the huge amount of dependence Michael has on his parents, it would behoove him to pay attention when his mother is talking to him. Is all the money his parents spend on him a gift or a loan?

As a kid, I was not allowed to wear headphones for just that reason! My mom complained a lot!

That generality about Canada is harsh and untrue. Canadians only get eaten by polar bears above the Arctic Circle. Below the Arctic Circle Canadians get eaten by grizzly bears.

Dave Cobb and comicsssfanUs southern Canadians where Michael and myself come from get eaten by mosquitoes in summer, and Jack Frost in the winter. The black bears that frequent the South prefer blueberries and picnic baskets.Go to Churchill if you want to get eaten by a polar bear.

People who demand gratitude, obedience, and no back talk, usually end up with kids who don’t call them after they move out at 17 or 18……..or is that the general idea?
