That has been known for years, even if the “Powers That Be” continue to deny it. Same as with Agent Orange, and Oil Fires during the Battle for Iraq.

Not that this makes the situation any better for those involved.

What a wonderful comic, today! Somewhat understated, but to the point. This kind of comic is one of the major reasons I still read them in my 60’s

I don’t think I was a hero.I know I was a sucker, when I believed the US government would properly compensate me for war damage. Bullet wounds, you’re a hero.Chemical or radioactive damage, you’re a willing victim and deserving of much less,if any compensation .I doesn’t matter that you can’t work anymore, nor does it matter that your quality of life is greatly diminished.Military service only insures that you have far fewer rights against government.

“Was it because of today’s date being commonly associated with a series of tragedies that occurred upon it back in the year 2001?” First, I’m guessing you’re better at sitting safely back and observing than you are putting yourself for anybody. Second, no, it’s not entirely because of the thought you so crudely stated above. It’s not just about the trauma for most of us. It’s about the stunning lessons in decency, raw courage, self-sacrifice, tenacity, searing pain for others, and the rise of the human spirit that we witnessed that day and for so many days after. To your point, we DO need reminders of that every single day. I’m just grateful for this one day of reminders.

I used to know the chaplain for the fire department in Warwick, RI. He once described his ministry thusly:

“These are guys who are paid nowhere near enough money to run into a building that everything, including the cockroaches, is running out of. Because that’s the job.”

Heroism is fear being carried into the breech anyway.

Yes, there are a lot of us ‘morons’ out here that believe it was an inside job. Since I happen to know what steel beams look like when cut off at an angle by explosive cutting charges that are used for demolishing buildings. I saw many of those cut off beams in the photos and videos when that happened. We are not all as ignorant in various subjects as you are.

Of all the comics I read, only 2 had tributes today to 9/11. Thank you for this. And thank you to all the first responders who served and sacrificed on that day 15 years ago. Never forget!

This is sad. Whose idea was to create this cartoon? Was it due to the calendar date being associated with a series of events that occurred upon it back in the year 2001? If so, then there should be cartoons like this one every day since terrible events had occurred on every calendar date. Every new day should be treated like a new day and not be dominated by dark events associated with its date.
